Actually Are

We started in 2018 with a handful of players and a gym. Now we're 100+ strong. Here's the real story.

Our Story

Started Small,
Still Going

NVC started in 2018 with a group of Nossal students who just wanted to play volleyball. Seven years later, we've got 100+ members and eight coaches, and we're still run entirely by people who came up through the club themselves. And importantly — you don't need to go to Nossal High School to join. NVC is open to all Year 7–12 students.

The club is independent from Nossal High School — we manage everything ourselves. The school supports us and lets us use the gym, but training, fees, teams and competitions are all handled by NVC directly.

We've competed at state level through Volleyball Victoria, sent teams to the Gold Coast for nationals, and won championships along the way. But honestly, the bit we're most proud of is that players keep coming back year after year — that's how you know the vibe is right.

How It Works

How It All
Works

Three groups are involved in how NVC runs. Here's what each of them actually does.

Nossal Volleyball Club

That's us. We handle everything — training, teams, fees, tournaments, gear. If you have a question about anything volleyball related, it comes to us, not the school.

Nossal High School

They let us use the gym and support what we do. Their only direct involvement is processing tournament entry fees through Compass — that's literally it.

🏆
Volleyball Victoria

They run the school tournaments and state competitions we compete in. All players are automatically covered by their insurance during sanctioned events.

Grow Together

We want every player to get better — at volleyball and at everything that comes with being on a team. Showing up consistently, communicating, pushing through hard training sessions. That stuff carries way beyond the court.

Community First

You don't need to be good to join. You just need to want to be there. We've had players come in with zero experience and leave as some of our best. The culture here is genuinely good — people look out for each other.

Compete With Pride

We train properly. We compete seriously. And we expect everyone in the club to carry themselves well — on the court, at tournaments, and in the school community. NVC has a reputation and we protect it.

Get It

Every one of our coaches played at Nossal before they started coaching here. They know what it's like to balance school, training and tournaments — because they did it themselves not that long ago.

All coaches hold a Working with Children Check and Volleyball Victoria coaching accreditations. No school teachers are involved — training and competitions are supervised entirely by our coaching team.

If you ever have concerns about a coach, contact the club presidents and Nossal High School directly. We take that stuff seriously.

Do Things Here

The vibe at NVC is good — and we want to keep it that way. When you're in our jersey, you represent the whole club. We've spent 7 years building a reputation and we're not going to let that slide.

If something goes wrong, you'll get a warning first. Serious issues mean removal from the club — with a full refund. We're fair about it, but we don't ignore it.
